Road Trip

One of the great things about being a stay-at-home mom and homeschooling your kids is that we get to accompany Chris occasionally on one of his work trips. Last week it was to Rockford, IL. We got to spend three days in a new place while Chris worked on a new project at the Rockford plant. The kids and I don't usually venture far when we're on one of these trips.
Our days are spent on school assignments, reading stories, swimming, taking walks around the hotel grounds, and exploring hotel hallways and stairwells (quietly!). Oh, and I also allow the kids to watch Nick Jr. in the afternoons--a rare treat for them.
The highlights of my mini-vacation last week were:
1) Not having to cook meals
2) Gorgeous weather and beautiful Fall colors for our 6-hour drives to and from Rockford
3) Fluffy beds and crisp, white bedsheets
4) Watching Ashley enjoy her first experience in a swimming pool
5) Family Time
